Itemory Privacy Policy

Itemory ("Itemory", "we", "us") is a home inventory app that helps you keep track of your belongings. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign up, you either provide an email address, username, and password, or you sign in with Google or Apple, in which case we receive the identifier and email address associated with that account (and your name, if you choose to share it).
• Content you add to the app. Homes, rooms, containers, and items you create, including names, descriptions, and any photos you attach to an item.
• Home address. If you choose to add a physical address to a home in the app, we store that address.
• Home sharing information. If you invite other people to a home, we store which accounts have access to that home so members can see shared inventory.
• Technical information. Standard server logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) generated when the app communicates with our backend.

How we use this information

• To create and secure your account, and authenticate you when you sign in.
• To operate the core features of the app: storing and displaying your inventory, and syncing it across your devices.
• To send account-related emails, such as email verification and password reset.
• To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate Itemory:

• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple, if you choose to use them to sign in.
• Amazon Web Services (S3), where item photos you upload are stored.
• Our email provider, used solely to send account-related emails (e.g. verification, password reset).

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Data sharing

Content within a home (rooms, containers, items, photos) is visible to accounts you've explicitly added as members of that home. We do not share your information with anyone else, except where required to comply with the law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at the email address below and we will process your request.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers and hashed storage of passwords.

Children's privacy

Itemory is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
